Pema Ts'al School, Mungod, India

Lama Guru Gyaltsen, Executive Director of the Pema Ts’al schools, dreamt of one day having a “clean environment with the best facilities” for his students, and his wish came to fruition when the construction was finished at our beautiful Pema Ts’al School. In December, 2002 Pema Ts’al was blessed with the visit of His Holiness Dalai Lama who laid the foundation stone of the new Pema Ts’al School in Mundgod, India and in 2007 the visit of His Holiness the Sakya Trizin. The executive director is Lama Guru Gyaltsen.

Since the official opening of the school on March 17, 2004 students have attended classes during the day at the Central School for Tibetans in Mundgod, returning back to Pema Ts’al in the late afternoon where they spend time not only studying, but also focusing on Tibetan cultural activities: language, music, song and dance, computer practice and sports (basketball and soccer).

We are proud of our many students who have finished their studies and go on to college and receive degrees in engineering, teaching, computer science, and medicine. Our Pema Ts’al School serves as a model facility where our students strive not only to excel in their academic studies, but also wish to give back ten-fold to their community.

Currently we have 67 students at our Pema Ts’al School. Sponsorship is $35.00 a month or $420.00 a year.
